90 Years of United Way of Sheboygan County
As we mark a significant milestone of our 90th anniversary, we’re filled with pride and gratitude. It’s been 42 years since our building first opened its doors to the Sheboygan County community, a beacon of support and collaboration that has stood the test of time.
In 1982, Quasius Construction Inc. crafted not just a structure, but a cornerstone of community service. This building wasn’t merely a home for our organization—it became a vibrant hub where a network of partner agencies could thrive. It’s amazing to look back and see how this space has been more than just four walls... it’s been a launchpad for countless initiatives that have shaped our community.
Originally, our building served as a hub for several nonprofits that have since made their mark. Big Brothers Big Sisters found a nurturing home here, helping to shape the lives of countless young people. The Mental Health Association, now known as Mental Health America - Lakeshore, provided crucial support and advocacy. The Children's Service Society, Family Service Association, and the Community Service Council each brought their unique missions under our roof, amplifying their impact. And let’s not forget the lower level, named in honor of Charles Pagnucco, which was dedicated to the American Red Cross of Sheboygan County—a place where emergency support and lifesaving services were always a priority.
Though we’ve called this building our home for more than four decades, the story of United Way of Sheboygan County (UWSC) stretches back even further. Since 1934, we have been a vital thread in the rich tapestry of service, philanthropy, and volunteerism that defines our community. Our commitment has always been to enhance the lives of those around us, and our building has been the physical manifestation of that mission—a place where ideas turn into action and where collaboration fosters change.
As we celebrate this anniversary, we reflect on our past with gratitude and look forward to the future with excitement. Our journey has been marked by partnerships, growth, and a steadfast dedication to making a difference. Here’s to 42 years of community service in our beloved building, and to many more years of impactful work to come.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Together, we continue to build a stronger, more connected Sheboygan County.
