90 Years of Creating Hope
Investing in Mental Health and Well-Being
Throughout the year, United Way worked tirelessly to break down barriers to mental health care through our Healthy Community initiatives. By removing financial, geographical, and cultural obstacles to quality mental health services, we have improved the overall well-being of countless individuals and families. We partnered with organizations like Mental Health America Lakeshore to implement evidence-based programs like the Resilient Classrooms Project, and supported programs like REINS Equine Therapy and Family Connections' Rainbow Kids, which provided crucial therapy and peer support to those facing the challenges of loss and trauma.
Building Community Resiliency
As we look toward the future, we are reminded of the importance of community. Our Volunteer Center continues to connect community needs with the right people, creating a culture of service that strengthens our entire community.
In 2023-24, our Volunteer Center played a vital role in mobilizing individuals and businesses to serve, including through impactful initiatives like the partnership with Oostburg State Bank, which curated a personalized week of volunteer opportunities for their employees. Through these efforts, we not only met immediate needs, but also deepened our connections and created a stronger, more resilient Sheboygan County.
Creating a Culture of Service and Support
Our ability to connect people with the right resources and empower them to take action is a defining feature of our work. From supporting low-income families with housing stability services, to offering meals and emergency assistance through programs like Meals on Wheels, we’ve worked to ensure that everyone in Sheboygan County has access to the resources they need to thrive.
The dedication of local organizations like CASA, Big Brothers Big Sisters Shoreline, Catholic Charities, and others has played a pivotal role in advancing our vision for a community where everyone can grow, learn, and achieve. These partners, along with your continued support, have made a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Gratitude and Looking Ahead
As we close the chapter on the 2023-24 year, we are deeply grateful for the continued support of our community. Whether through your financial contributions, volunteer efforts, or advocacy, you have made it possible for us to accomplish so much.
However, our work is not done. There are still challenges to face, lives to change, and progress to make.
We invite you to join us in the journey ahead. Together, we can continue to create hope, resilience, and lasting change for all of Sheboygan County. Thank you for your commitment to building a brighter future, one step at a time.
