NEXT GEN LEADERS OF SHEBOYGAN COUNTY

Who are NextGen Leaders?

NextGen Leaders is a group of community-minded individuals committed to making Sheboygan County a better place - together.

We care deeply about where we live and are taking action through service, learning, and leadership. Whether you're new to volunteering or ready to step into a leadership role, NextGen Leaders is your on-ramp to community impact.

WHAT WE DO

We connect, learn, and lead through a variety of meaningful opportunities throughout the year including:

Quarterly Meetings (four times per year)

These open gatherings are the best way to get to know Next Gen Leaders and learn more about community needs. Each meeting features:

  • Networking with fellow community-minded individuals
  • An opportunity to hear from local experts about real issues impacting our neighbors
  • Rotating topics tied to United Way of Sheboygan County’s four impact areas:
    • Financial Security: focuses on emergency shelter, housing, food security and financial education.
    • Youth Opportunity: focuses on early childhood development, expanding access to quality childcare, and improving kindergarten readiness.
    • Healthy Communities: focuses on mental health, with youth mental health as an area of particular focus.
    • Community Resiliency: focuses on connecting needs in our community with the right resources and the right people.

Volunteer Opportunities (6+ per year)

We roll up our sleeves and volunteer together throughout the year—supporting both United Way-led initiativesefforts and community projects that help us better understand Sheboygan County’s most pressing needs.

Vision Committee (Monthly Meetings)

The NextGen Leaders Vision Committee helps guide the group’s direction, plan upcoming activities, and dream big for our community. Vision Committee members commit to:

  • A minimum of a 2-year term. Following 2-years of service on the Vision Committee, the commitment becomes annual.
  • Each individual on the Vision Committee commits to making a contribution of $250 to United Way’s Community Action Fund.
  • A desire to grow as leaders in service
  • The Vision Committee also gathers for an annual retreat each April — a dedicated time for training, connection, and strategic planning for the year ahead.

Collective Impact Goals

  • Together, NextGen Leaders strive to:

    • Contribute at least 100+ volunteer hours annually
    • Raise at least $1,500 to support United Way’s community initiatives
    • Raise awareness about the causes that affect our community.
