The Sheboygan County Community Partnership for Children (SCCPC) is a community initiative of which United Way of Sheboygan County serves as the backbone agency. The SCCPC is a cradle to career initiative focused on prevention support for youth and their families. At this time, the coalition is developing the early learning portion of the initiative, which focuses on children ages prenatal to 5-years-old and their families and caregivers. The vision of the SCCPC is that all Sheboygan County children are safe, healthy and prepared to grow, learn and achieve.

The following are programs and activities coordinated by SCCPC:

  • Welcome Baby: The Welcome Baby Program is offered to all first-time parents in Sheboygan County. During the visit, a Resource Specialist meets with families in the hospitals to provide community resource information, as well as connect families to Parents as Teachers home visiting program.
  • Community Developmental Screening Events: Community-wide developmental screening events give parents and caregivers another opportunity to discuss their child’s development with trained staff, share activities to foster healthy child development, and connect families to community resources in Sheboygan County.
  • Parent Café Workshops: Having positive relationships to support your family in any situation is important. Parent Cafés give families the opportunity to talk about what they are interested in and make friends with other parents in the area.
  • Born Learning Trails: The Born Learning Trail promotes physical activity, mental stimulation and bonding with families. There are ten signs on each trail, describing different activities families can do together.
