2019 Day of Caring

Join us this year for Day of Caring on September 12. This annual event, hundreds of community volunteers gather together to complete nonprofit projects around the county. They dig in the dirt, paint various corners, build walls, ... this list goes on and the impact is broad.  

Volunteers: Please sign up by Monday, August 19, 2019 if you wish to receive a Day of Caring t-shirt in your requested size. T-shirt size requests are not guaranteed if registrations are received after August 19th.

How to Participate: 

  1. Assemble your team of volunteers and choose a team lead. Choose a team name and make sure to collect t-shirt sizes for everyone participating.
  2. Your team lead then creates a login to the Volunteer Center. CLICK HERE to create a login to your account.
  3. Take a look online at the Day of Caring Projects and pick one. CLICK HERE for the listing of 2019 Day of Caring projects.
  4. Sign up for a project by clicking "Respond as a Team" and fill in the form. (**Your team leader will need to know how many volunteers are coming and their t-shirt sizes at this time.)

Day of the Event:

7:30 am - All volunteers will meet at the Sheboygan A’s Ballpark for the Day of Caring and United Way Campaign kickoff. This includes a light breakfast, a short presentation from United Way staff and co-chairs, and a mascot race! From there, a representative from each volunteer site should be present to connect with Volunteer Team leaders to give them directions or any last-minute instructions.

If you are a community member that would like to participate in the kick-off breakfast, you can register HERE. If you have signed up as a volunteer for the day, then your breakfast is included.

8:30 am to 4:30 pm - Volunteer projects will take place. CLICK HERE for the listing of 2019 Day of Caring projects.

4:00 pm - 10:00 pm - As a thank you, all volunteers receive tickets for Taste Sheboygan downtown at Fountain Park. Finish your day by enjoying music and a taste of Sheboygan's favorite local restaurants. This event is open to the public! CLICK HERE for more details about this event.

Last Year

On September 13, 2018 - 960 individuals participated in 2018 Day of Caring by completing 52 projects for 32 nonprofit agencies across Sheboygan County. The day concluded at Fountain Park for Taste Sheboygan.
