Supervisor:            Director of Operations

Salary Range:          $28,000 - $32,000

Job Summary:         

The Unit Director is responsible for the direction, supervision and evaluation of the unit on a daily basis.  Included are the overall program of the club, program staff and facility maintenance.  The Unit Director is responsible for administrative tasks as related to the daily operations of the Club, its staff and members.  The Unit Director is responsible for building and maintaining community relationships with school districts, other youth serving organizations and the community as a whole.

Qualifications

Experience:  

  • Knowledge of the youth development strategy
  • Minimum of 18 months of experience managing a youth development program
  • Minimum of one year of experience managing paid staff

 Skills/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience required
  • Adult/child CPR & First Aid certifications are required within three months of hire
  • Valid WI driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate necessary, correct, and timely information to others
  • Ability to motivate and supervise staff effectively
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavioral problems
  • Ability to travel between centers, after-school programs, expansion sites, and community agencies

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for short periods of time

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, direct, coordinate and evaluate the guidance, motivation & behavior of staff members
  • Recruit, hire, train and supervise staff to support program requirements
  • Develop quarterly program plans for the unit
  • Maintain a constant presence in Club during all program hours
  • Maintain accurate records on all Club membership and attendance
  • Develop and submit accurate reports on all programs, on a timely basis
  • Maintain and purchase program equipment and supplies as needed, with budget limitations
  • Supervise care and maintenance of facility
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with members and parents
  • Develop and maintain ongoing close relationships with area school districts, principals, guidance counselors, etc.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships and collaborations with other youth serving community agencies
  • Communicate the philosophy, objectives, goals, standards and program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County to members, staff, parents and the general public through community outreach and marketing of the Club and its programs being offered
  • Establish and achieve goals and objectives as set by Unit Director and Director of Operations
  • Attend Unit Director staff meetings
